Assistive Modalities
There are many techniques I use at Inner Harmony to
help my clients be more successful in a session, such as
deep-breathing exercises, reflexology, acupressure, Shiatsu abdominal
massage and manual lymphatic movement.
According
to a 1992 article by Joseph Vargas, Ph.D., the Director of the
Wholistic Health Center in Houston, Texas, abdominal massage can be a
valuable tool to help remove fatigue-causing elements from muscle
tissue. Lactic acid and carbon dioxide are regular metabolic by-products
of the wear and tear of daily activity, and can collect in the muscles,
irritating and weakening them. Indol, skarol, phenol, ammonia,
cadaverin, histidine, and other elements can build up within intestinal
tissue.
Absorption of these can alter
DNA/RNA cells, the blueprint of human cell manufacturing, and cause
irregular secretions and peculiarities in bones, muscles, and internal
organs.
Under ideal circumstances,
i.e., perfect diet, no stress or perfect stress management, regular
exercise, optimum quality air and water, genetic advantages, perfectly
functioning internal organs, etc., these by-products would not collect.
Needless to say, they do. Removing these chemicals from muscle and gut
tissue reduces the burden on the nerves and on the digestive, blood and
lymphatic systems.Good food, colon hygiene (colonic irrigation), and
abdominal massage help to keep the body healthy and free of waste
build-up. Abdominal massage can invigorate abdominal skin tissue,
stimulate the circulation of body fluids, and balance the distribution
of nerve impulses. It can also assist in relaxation, thus breaking the
habit of holding tension in the colon.
Old Moral (Author Unknown)
I’m The Boss
When
God made man there was only one, and the various parts of the body
argued about who would be boss. The hand said they should be because
they did the work. The feet said they should because they took man to
where he could do the work. The stomach thought it should be because
it digested the food. The heart thought it should be because it pumped
the blood that allowed the food to be digested by the stomach and reach
the body. The brain said,"No, I have to send all the signals to get each
of you to do your job, therefore I am the boss." The colon said, "I’ll
show you who is boss," and clogged up and would not let anything pass.
After a few days the stomach ached—the hands were practically
helpless—the feet could not carry the body — the heart was ready to stop
pumping the blood–-the brain’s signals were being ignored. To all this
there is a moral......
